The Awards Competition
Each year the GFAF and AAF sponsor the prestigious ADDY awards ceremony, an annual competition that recognizes creative excellence in advertising. It is also the primary fund-raising activity of our local club. Advertisers, agencies, individuals and vendors enter their best work of the year and compete for the area's top honors. Although competition is open to all, regardless of GFAF membership, entry fees for members are significantly reduced.
The Greater Frederick Advertising Federation's ADDY competition is the first of a three-tiered national competition. Entries must first be submitted in a local competition to be eligible for district contest, which is the second level of the ADDY process. The local winners may proceed to districts and those winners may proceed to the national finals.
The Event - A Night of Celebration
The ADDYs are, without doubt, the most highly anticipated event in the Greater Frederick advertising community. Our annual ADDY event is a festive evening where all entries, including the student entries, are displayed during the showcase reception and happy hour. Then the real excitement begins with the presentation of the ADDYs, student honors and club service awards. It all cumulates with the special Judge's awards and the presentation of Best of Show.
